Domestic Disturbance – A caller started to report some kind of disturbance, and was then disconnected.  Officers responded and discovered a woman had shown up at the residence where her estranged boyfriend was staying.  He had asked her to leave several times, and was phoning police to request assistance when she walked out the door and pulled the phone cord out of the wall.  Officers determined no crime had occurred.

MVA Injury – Officers responded to a rollover accident on Captain’s Bay Road.  En route, an officer saw four people who appeared to be fleeing the area in the bed of another vehicle.  One of them, Blaine Shaishnikoff, was identified as the driver.  Another person sustained minor injuries, and two other passengers were uninjured in the accident.  Shaishnikoff, 18 yoa, of Unalaska, had been drinking alcohol prior to the accident and was arrested for Driving under the Influence, Assault III, and two counts Reckless Endangerment.

MVA Injury – A driver who had bent over to retrieve his glasses from the floor of his pickup careened into a dumpster, which subsequently slammed into a parked pickup, which in turn struck another parked vehicle.  The driver was treated for possible injuries sustained in the accident.

MVA Injury – UDPS received a report that a taxi driver had struck a cyclist approximately one hour earlier.  The victim claimed to have been injured in the incident.  Investigation revealed the taxi driver had backed into a bicycle and had damaged the rear wheel.  Witnesses stated the cyclist was not on the bike at the time, and the intoxicated victim provided rather inconsistent statements about the accident.  The taxi driver was issued a citation for Limitations on Backing.

Fire Response – Fire and EMS volunteers responded to a report of a fire, involving burn barrels filled with waste diesel fuel and other flammables, at the Magone Marine complex.  The fire was extinguished prior to their arrival.

Fire Safety – Fire and Police officers located the person responsible for the burn barrels at the Magone complex.  He had failed to obtain a burn permit, and had left the area while the fire was still in progress.  The man was issued a citation for Burning without a Valid Permit.

DUI – Officer observed a vehicle leave the area of the newly reopened bar, fail to stop at a stop sign and then speed on Airport Beach Road.  The officer contacted the driver, who was found to be intoxicated.  Brandon Young, 28 yoa, of Washington, was arrested on one count of Driving under the Influence.

Liquor Law Violation – A woman who was asked to leave the Harbor View Inn because of her level of intoxication attempted to drive away from the area.  When several other people tried to stop her from doing so, she became upset and began screaming at them, threatening one woman in particular.  Leah Brooks, 21 yoa, of Unalaska, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and, later, after she attempted to head-butt the arresting officer, for Resisting Arrest.
