UNALASKA/PORT OF DUTCH HABOR CONVENTION AND VISITOR’S BUREAU JOB ANNOUNCEMENT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The Unalaska/Port of Dutch Harbor Convention and Visitors Bureau is seeking a results oriented Executive Director to provide dynamic leadership for this well established non-profit organization. Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of local attractions, sites, and infrastructure or ability to learn quickly. Proven experience in marketing, and dealing with local, state and federal officials. Working knowledge of accounting principles, grant writing, and administrative procedures. Minimum 5 years progressively responsible business experience, and two years in the visitor industry Alaska experience, Unalaska residents, and college degree preferred.

The Alaska Migratory Bird Co-Management Council, in partnership the Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska, seeks two local residents to work in completing a migratory bird survey project, starting immediately. Duties include working with staff to determine the households to be visited, and distributing and collecting survey forms about bird harvesting and egg collecting in the community. Surveyors will make two visits to each survey household between now and March 2009. The surveys are anonymous and results are completely confidential. Compensation is made after completing a brief training, and for each completed survey form collected. Limited local transportation is available while collecting surveys. This is an ideal opportunity for an active, responsible, outgoing person interested in science, birds, and natural resources.
