You know what? I was wrong. That fuel cans been loaned out for a while and I
just got it back. I wanted to be sure I was relaying correct information so
I just checked it, even has the date it was made. I apologize to everyone
for misleading them. It was not a 7 gallon can I put 7.99 gallons in. It was
6.6.
Zorro

Hey A.C.
I dont remember where I bought that fuel can. I've had it for years. Maybe Napa???
Zorro

Sorry A.C. I got carried away. Anyway change the fuel filter like the manual suggests. No, I am not the one and only zorro. Instead of complaining about fuel costs, just cut back. Maybe carpool. Then the city could build us a carpool lane only. Why not a toll booth on the new bridge. Creates revenue, adds more jobs, cuts down on traffic.
 I am J.P.

Hey J.P.,
I suggest you re-read the entry from joe mamma and notice that it says FUEL filter, not OIL filter! Slow down and read the blogs before you respond. Is this really Zorro posing as another member of the community? We have been searching the net and trying to purchase a certified 7 gallon fuel can and can only find 6 and 8. Do mind letting all of us know where they are selling 7 gallon cans?
A.C

Hey Ace. you gonna deliver my fedex. I call you and nobody answers the phone. Where we gonna park when we pick up our stuff?
How do we know when we got mail?
How bout parking in the Eagle lot once a day and we all pick up there?
Hey joe mama, change that durn oil filter more often. Dont be so cheap. If you smart enough to read the manual, then follow the instructions. And what does the oil have to do with the amount of fuel we use?
J.P

Hilliary's here?????
You have my vote!
Oh, Mr. fuel filter, you didn't mention how I overcame physics.

Zorro,  I have driven 86,000 miles without changing a fuel filter so I'm not complaining.  (owner's manual says change fuel filter every 15,000).
The water in fuel is also caused by normal condensation inside your own fuel tank.   Try to keep fuel tank full and use  those red bottles of fuel dryer when you have to.

Watch out for those big Bald Eagles. Or is it Big Bold ass Eagles. I am hearing that one person got attacked yesterday, had medical treatment, then was attacked again on the way home.
I understand how they would attack those Canadians last week, but a local person?
Bad Bad Eagle. Hilliary C

I'd like to make a few suggestions on making Unalaska better walking town, increasing enjoyment of the local environment. These would have health, economic and environmental benefits.
Completion of the pedestrian walkway, especially along the S-Curves on Airport Beach Road, should be a priority. Walkway construction funding was proposed by the administration in last year's budget, but was removed by the city council.
The Department of Parks, Culture and Recreation should once again offer affordable bicycle rentals.
The Marine Advisory Program should organize trips to local natural wonders like Makushin Volcano. When I lived in Dillingham in the early 1990s, MAP Agent
Terry Johnson organized awesome trips to the Valley of 10,000 Smokes in the Katmai National Park, and to the state walrus sanctuary on Round Island. Participants split transportation costs, and each trip only cost about $500. Both trips were one-credit
courses through the University of Alaska. I believe Unalaska suffers from a lack of adult outdoor recreation programs, but it's not because of a lack of resources.

Hi Ralph!
I just put 7.99 gallons of gas in a certified 7 gallon can.Stayed away from
the bushmills this time and had two witness's watch. So explain it to me

Are we getting too complacent regarding our airport?  The recent crash of the pen air goose is disturbing and
Could have been a huge tragedy.  If the gate is broken – fix it!!!   Fix anything that is broken at the airport, please!!
Get our airport in the safest condition possible.  Kippy

Well. I for one think booze should be banned! Then I can build the still
I've had on paper for years and make some real money. But with the price of
corn these days I will have to jack up my
prices.

Oh please. Do you think the fishing would stop, and the town would go bust if you took away the booze. Do you really think 98% of people here drink? (When the airlines banned smoking on board, did all the smokers quit flying? ) Just think. How many cabs we could get off the road at night. Tipsy

Tipsy
Yes, well thought out idea - Ban Drinking in this town.  Effect: gets rid of the fishermen (who drink too much) - the processors (also drink too much) - the hand full of good looking women (who make too much $$ serving alcohol). Result: we would not only need 80% less police, we would have 98% less people and no business in town after a short while (jobs here are
all fishing related)! IMHO Ridiculous

Tipsy
First, lets outlaw drugs. We've been so successfull at that

Jim
I say replace all the bars with coffee shops. Ban drinking in this town. Watch who leaves.
80% of the police log is alcohol related.
WE could probably reduce our police force by 80%. Burn the booze as fuel, reduce heating costs, and we all win.
Tipsy

Dear Ralph
Maybe thats why I used to see a north pacific maintance man ( who will go unnamed)
with a pump and a water seperator explain to me he was trying to get the water out of the fuel tank. I also know the fuel racks where the trucks pick up the fuel in the first place have temperture compensators, so why shouldnt the pumps? (tell me I'm wrong !) I also know I'm not the only person who had
they're fuel line freeze up this winter
because of water in the fuel. Yes, someone snuck up to my car in the night
and put that water in there. I do respect a man who defends the people who write his check however.

Great News for our FEDEX!

I have brokered a deal with FEDEX to be the FedEx reps for out here and they will use ACE AIR CARGO exclusively, so instead of picking it up at the post office and not knowing for days we will have the full system in tact by next week. I believe this will make life little easier on everyone that signs up with FedEx. If anyone has any questions just call ACE at 581-5787, let's get some accounts built up out here so they can see an increase in business and they'll be happy too. We should be getting rates for outbound service but this will take little more time but its coming I promise that. Greg
