We are currently seeking an Operations Supervisor for our Dutch Harbor, AK location. Major Accountabilities: Financial Operations Support financial operations to include and not limited to payroll processing, payouts, accounting and record keeping of time cards/gang sheets and ensuring compliance with applicable contracts. Vendor management to include invoice processing-receive and code invoices from vendors. Prepare invoice and obtain approval, and scan and email for daily/weekly processing. Maintain records of active vendors, invoices processed for payment lease agreements, and all union contracts. Maintain leave records for employees participating in accruals program Other projects and duties as assigned
Marine Operations Manage, plan, and implement stevedore operations to achieve highest level of marine productivity and customer service at the lowest cost and efficient workforce utilization. Ensure that vessel proforma schedule requirements are met or exceeded. Develop effective / productive communications and relationship with inter-terminal departments, long shore, operations coordinator contract vendors, US Government agencies, and internal customers. Coordinate and plan with the Vessels, Marine departments, and vessel support personnel when necessary to ensure an accurate and safe stowage plan for all vessels. Directly communicate and plan with Terminal, Marine, Maersk and Fleet Operations personnel the requirements of Marine Operations and resolve problems as required. Oversee and manage the timeliness and accuracy of stevedoring payroll; manage and approve ILWU overtime. Account for productivity on vessels, and stevedoring activities for other organizations directed by Horizon Lines for billing purposes. Direct and lead all work assignments for ILWU walking boss, and manage the performance of long shore personnel, including recommending or implementing disciplinary actions as needed. Required Education and Experience 2-3 years experience in leadership roles in an operational/financial environment. Strong supervisory, accounting, analytical skills. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and/or university is preferred, but not required. Demonstrated work schedule flexibility to meet needs of terminal operations Strong computer knowledge using Windows; Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to exhibit flexibility, adapt to change, multi-task, solve problems, make decisions, and assume ownership of work; ability to prioritize daily schedule and responsibilities; highly organized and detail oriented. Assess and decide marine requirements in advance and structure tasks to meet cost and service objectives. Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
