The Kenai River runs down through the Kenai Mountains and through the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. The water is a jade color thanks to the glacier that flows into Kenai Lake, then into the Upper Kenai River. After about 21 miles of the Upper River, it brings us to Skilak Lake which feeds the Lower Kenai River. About 60 or so miles more, the river leads us to the saltwater of Cook Inlet. Cooper Landing is one of the most beautiful parts of Alaska. There's a time when your fishing the river that you just have to stop and look around, to see where you're at and to take in this unforgettable Alaska."
